I just got BURNED -ImgBurn is my long time trustworthy CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning software on Windows and ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 installed just fine on my desktop some time ago.Today I downloaded it from the official site to install on another machine and I noticed the installer was different. I was a fool to trust it. I never had encountered the situation where a version is 'repackaged' in malware. Both the site and installer for this version contain malware. PROOF:The installer wasn't just suspicious, it was a F-ING joke. Wifi off windows 8. I cancelled that shit HARD.
A few minutes later I look on my desktop and noticed it placed a shortcut there titled Continue ImgBurn Install Installation. Original, trustworthy installer download location Anyway, you can still get the original, 'healthy' installer for version 2.5.8.0:Get the one under old versions!!!The checksum for this installer, dated 2016-12-09 (yyyy-mm-dd) is:File: SetupImgBurn2.5.8.0.exeCRC-32: 1af3cd36MD4: 968d02234ea91f221913beMD5: 4bf2b8f4b46385bfda4d65e423cfb868SHA-1: 6a3d20796e1fcd4169d5d339af6e491dcea3367cThanks VideoHelp.com.
I'd recommend you don't keep using old versions of ImgBurn, use Virtual Clone Drive. If you're using an older ImgBurn, you a) aren't supporting the newer/free-er software, b) creating a bad prescident for your friends, family, and others online.Already here you're creating yet another mention of ImgBurn online, which (even though being bad news), helps cement the name in people's minds. 'Oooh, it's so good and indispensible this guy goes to great lengths to keep using it, even though it's now malware'.Imho. Also it is not loaded with malware, it has adware or potentially unwanted programs. We need to get our terms right, because other less tech savvy people will take our word for it and we need to be accurate in our explanation of the situation.
I don't like opencandy but its not technically malware and calling it malware would be both incorrect and unfair. We didn't pay for Imgburn, so they had to look for other forms of revenue, this sort of thing happened to sourceforge and now some people are scared to go there thinking its full of malware or something. It is not loaded with malware, it has adware or potentially unwanted programsThe user has to actively agree to install the OpenCandy stuff; yes. So it's not technically malware in the definition of being installed secretly without the user's knowledge. However, if the user installs ImgBurn without noticing (and thus declining) the OpenCandy components, then here is what OpenCandy will do to their PC (according to Wikipedia):'OpenCandy's various undesirable side-effects include changing the user's homepage, desktop background or search provider, and inserting unwanted toolbars, plug-ins and extension add-ons in the browser. It also collects and transmits various information about the user and his/her Web usage without notification or consent.' That type of behavior is of concern.
It's shitty since I use CDBurnerXP and it also comes with Opencandy. What I did was just download the portable version of both programs, so it's ready to run out of the box, portable so you can throw it on a flash drive, and you don't have to install it and risk installing bullshit. Also I would recommend you download Unchecky, which will automatically deselect bloat, PUPs and other bullshit if you are a person who likes to click next and not read when installing software (which is a bad thing, but whatever).

Windows 10 Update
It also supports any audio format supported by ACM/DirectShow. It can also be used on any Windows platform ranging from Windows 95 through Windows 10. While advanced users have several ways to configure the software to their needs, it essentially works right out of the box, which is great if you don't have any prior experience working with ISO files or other disk image formats such as BIN, IMG, CDI, CCD and so on.The wide support for various disk image types, Windows OS versions and media file types is one of the reasons this software is so popular.
However, there are also several issues you must be aware of when using ImgBurn. But first, let's look at how to burn an ISO image to a disk using this utility. Step 1: Download ImgBurn from this location and install it on your Windows PC. Step 1: Download and install ISO Burner on a Windows PC.Step 2: Run the application and select 'Burn' in the main window. Now select the bootable ISO and add it to the program by clicking on the 'Browse' button in the interface.Step 3: Next, insert the DVD, choose the optical drive as your preferred media and click on 'Burn'.That's it! Your bootable DVD will be created in less than five minutes. By comparison with other ISO burning utilities, ISO Burner has one of the highest burning success rates in the market.
You will appreciate this if you have wasted dozens of DVDs in the past because the ISO file was not burned properly to the disk. The chances of that happening with this software are negligible to zero. Part 4: Best ImgBurn Alternative - UltraISO ($29.95)UltraISO is another great alternative if you're having problems with ImgBurn. You can burn ISO files to disk, edit them, extract content and even mount them on virtual drives so the program can directly run from the virtual drive. Although the software interface is much less intuitive than ISO Burner, once you use it a few times you will get the hang of it.
The double window UI can be confusing if you're not familiar with it, but a lot of users find it to be convenient. The biggest disadvantage is that it is a Windows software, so if you have a Mac computer, you can't use this software.Step 1: Download and install the program on your Windows PC.Step 2: Launch the software, click CTRL+O to open File Explorer, select the ISO file and click 'Open'.Step 3: Select the burn speed, select the optical drive (after inserting the DVD), and choose whether or not you want the burned disk to be verified after the burn process is complete. You can do the verification by ticking the 'Verify' box in the software.Step 4: Now click on 'Burn' to initiate the burn process.UltraISO is a great software, but it's not perfect. Users have reported coming across several issues such as 'No virtual drive found', 'Volume not found', 'No available disc' and many more. There are also installation errors such as Error 3 or Error 5, where the program is not installed properly or is corrupted during the installation process. Conclusion:Your best bet in any of these scenarios is to use Androidphonesoft ISO Burner, which is a comprehensive tool for handling ISO files. As long as you follow the setup instructions and the burning instructions described above, you'll be safe.
No hassles, no errors or issues and no fussing with complex settings. Whether it's a Windows or Mac environment, ISO Burner is the ideal alternative to ImgBurn or any other ISO burning utility for that matter.
